This position is located in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Southeast Network (VISN 7), VA Augusta Health Care System (VAAHCS) in Augusta, Georgia located in the Social Work Service Line. Department/Service Name. Incumbent serves as program coordinator at the GS-12 grade and is administratively responsible for a clinic program providing treatment to patients in a major specialty, such as Intensive Community Mental Health Recovery Services. They may be the sole practitioner in this specialty at the facility and typically provide direct care services in the program area. They manage the daily operations of the program, develop policies and procedures for program operation and prepare reports and statistics for facility, Veterans Integrated Service Network VISN), and national use. They may be responsible for the program's budget and various control points assigned to the program within the assigned areas. The incumbent manages and controls the use of data related to these programs regarding day to day functioning and program evaluation. In conjunction with the Service Chief, plans, organizes, and directs administrative, operational, patient and personnel activities for the service.

Social work program coordinators must be licensed at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.

The incumbent will adhere to national directives, handbooks, medical center policies, and service policies related to the duty assignment. Incumbent may be required to travel various sites and to other VA facilities, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN), or VACO as necessary.

Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the assigned Supervisor and/or Social Work Executive/Chief as needed for the benefit of the Veteran, family, and quality of services provided. Additionally, the incumbent may be relocated to another office, or building, to include Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC), to support the mission of the medical center. The individual may be required to work an irregular tour of duty, to include weekends, depending on the needs of the service and medical center. The individual may participate in the medical center's social work on-call rotation, as required, after hours.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of existing pay, higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)
Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
