Who you are:

As an IT Technical Writer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our customers have access to clear and comprehensive documentation that empowers them to make the most of our products and services. You’ll use your expert problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and subject matter experts, to produce user-friendly and accurate documentation.

What you’ll do:

  • The IT Technical Writer is responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation for JHHP’s IT Department.
  • Work and communicate effectively with software engineers and product managers to write and maintain high-quality documentation
  • Plan, write, proof, edit, and revise state-of-the-art technical information and documents, including user manuals, configuration/installation instructions, tutorials, test plans, product specifications, and FAQs
  • Assess the needs of diverse target audiences, including non-technical users, system administrators, and programmers and develop documentation accordingly
  • Transform complex documentation into simple concepts that are easy to understand by the end-users
  • Solicit and evaluate the user feedback to retrieve information on documentation and use it to enhance usability
  • Analyze the metrics used for training and assess the customer feedback to align them with future documentation revisions and modifications

What you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years of experience as an IT technical writer.
    • Experience working in a managed care, health care, or similar environment preferred.
  • Professional writing, editing and/or publication experience along with training and development experience to include training design and delivery and needs assessment and analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or related field. Work experience can be substituted for degree requirements
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft SharePoint, Adobe FrameMaker and Confluence
  • Understanding of established technical writing standards and style guides (e.g., Microsoft Manual of Style)
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements such as HIPAA, NIST and CMS.
