    Responsibilities And What You Will Do:

  • Serves as a liaison between the organization and the public.
Develops and maintains a positive public image for the organization through public-facing communication. Responds to information requests from media contacts. Writes, reviews, and/or distributes press releases and other public-facing communication. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with media outlets, consumers, government entities, and public interest groups. Arrange interviews for the company’s executives and management. Evaluates advertising campaigns to ensure consistency with the organization’s public relations strategy. Develops and/or executes social media and content strategies to release information on the organization in a manner that will promote a positive public image. Attends weekly department meetings and biweekly all staff meetings. Performs other duties as assigned.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Must be available to volunteer 8-10 hours a week

Extensive knowledge of public relations principles and strategies.

Excellent public speaking skills.

Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write in a journalistic style that is customary for external publications.

Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with media contacts and outlets.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Prior related experience required.
