Job Summary

As a Preventative Medicine Specialist with the U.S. Army, you will conduct or assist with preventative medicine inspections, surveys, and laboratory procedures. You will also supervise preventative medicine facilities or serve on preventative medicine staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventative medicine inspections to identify potential health risks and hazards.
  • Assist with preventative medicine laboratory procedures to analyze and test specimens.
  • Conduct survey and control operations to prevent the spread of diseases and promote public health.
Requirements
  • Must be between the ages of 17-34.
  • Must have a GED or High School Diploma.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Cardholder.
  • Must meet Army Height and weight standards.
Training and Education

Job training for a Preventative Medicine Specialist requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, which includes on-the-job instruction and practice in testing specimens.
