The Senior Consultant of Clinical Risk Strategy is at the forefront of healthcare transformation. This position is responsible for creating and operationalizing strategic efforts to support all facets of value-based care across the enterprise. The individual will collaborate with market educators, operators, and clinicians across Optum Health to improve collaboration, drive clinical performance improvement, and documentation and coding accuracy.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM within your local time zone
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work independently on complex, significant strategic and operational assignments
- Provide strategic vision around national approach to delivery of value-based care education
- Develop and operationalize national clinical programs to support Optum Health
- Collaborate with other strategy leaders to ensure clinical risk related content and messaging is aligned, compliant, and accurate across the organization
- Recommend process improvements
- Assess program effectiveness (including education), gather performance metrics, and develop targeted solutions to improve outcomes
- Lead multiple programs and projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion of deliverables
- Presentations to senior leadership
- Build relationships and collaborates with vendors and internal subject matter experts

Required Qualifications:
- Advanced clinical degree with active/unrestricted MD/DO or NP/PA license
- 5+ years of clinical experience 3+ years in risk adjustment experience
- Subject matter expert in documentation and coding related in CMS guidance in risk adjustment
- Knowledge of CMS value-based programs, HEDIS, and STARS requirements
- Proven excellent verbal, written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Proven solid collaborative, relationship building, and trust building skills
- Proven solid transformational and change management skills
- Proven advanced skills required with multi-training delivery methods (MS Powerpoint, Teams, Word, etc.)
- Proven ability to bring large groups together, creating innovative efficiencies
- Willing or ability to travel as needed up to 10% nationwide

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
