Optum Actuarial Consultant Role

At Optum, we're dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that improve health outcomes and advance health equity. As an Actuarial Consultant, you'll play a critical role in shaping our future by leveraging your actuarial expertise to drive financial analysis and model development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a mix of routine and ad-hoc actuarial activities to support our underwriting tools, including automating data collection and reporting, designing analyses, and interpreting results.
  • Collaborate with our product team to complete projects on-time and with high quality, ensuring seamless integration of actuarial expertise into our solutions.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in actuarial or financial data analysis, with a strong background in R or Python programming.
  • Actuarial exam track with a minimum of 2 passed exams, or equivalent experience in consulting and claims data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with SQL, probabilistic or prospective modeling, and consulting experience in the healthcare industry.
