Position Summary:

The Director of Advance within the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences is a key leadership position responsible for alumni engagement and executing a broad-based development strategy to secure financial support from alumni and friends of the college, corporations, foundations, and other possible sources. The director reports to the Assistant Dean for Administration and collaborates with the University Advancement team.

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences has more than 5,700 alumni who have graduated with a degree in clinical research, health sciences, nursing, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant practice, or public health. This position is responsible for leading the activities of the college related to alumni relations, and coordination of volunteer efforts.

The director also utilizes the Dean of the College, key alumni, faculty and friends to develop and secure funding from major donors. The Director provides leadership as the primary representative for CPHS Alumni Engagement. The Director is also responsible for ensuring that all gifts are appropriately acknowledged, and for maintaining prospect reports, coordinating special events related to fundraising and volunteer programs. This position also works in collaboration with the Director of Communications and Marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary contact for College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences Alumni Board and alumni of the college
Responsible for key college events including alumni board meetings, CPHS alumni golf classic, and other alumni events
Works with CPHS administration to develop a comprehensive alumni, fundraising, and stewardship plan
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and secure major gifts for the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
Build and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects for solicitation and stewardship
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; HIPAA, FERPA and other state and federal mandates
Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice
Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s Degree Preferred
At least three years of significant higher education, nonprofit, or related experience in the areas of fundraising, donor stewardship, and prospect cultivation
Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
Familiarity with regarding Ellucian CRM Advance and web-based applications
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with donors, alumni, trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines
Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours and regular travel, including overnight stays.
