The Role:Gotham FC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to be its Financial Planning & Analysis (âFP&Aâ) Senior Manager, who will be reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will have experience in providing accurate financial planning & analysis, forecasting, and strategic insight to optimize business efficiency and earnings.  They will have an eye for details, a passion for sports, and thrive in a fan-focused, fast-paced environment.  This role should balance being a good business partner for the departments with ensuring sound fiscal process and discipline throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the month-end, quarterly and full year forecast / reports, with commentary, including developing and supporting reporting packages for various stakeholders
  • Partner with Club personnel to assist in the preparation of the forecast / budget
  • Develop and contribute to the annual and long-range budget including department detail, while creating presentation decks through various approvals
  • Assist in building management reports for the Board and executive team.
  • Assist in the budget / forecast to actual analysis and explanations of variances
  • Provide analytical, accounting and reporting support to the accounting group, including monthly fluctuation explanations of actuals vs. plan/forecast.
  • Work continuously as a finance liaison with several departments providing monthly performance/expense management reporting as well as other key actionable metrics.
  • Build working relationships with Club personnel and other partners in support of key priorities and objectives. 
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and analysis, as requested. 
  • Perform complex special projects, as requested.
  • Stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications:
  • Must have accounting, finance, or other related business degree. 
  • Minimum of 8+ years of financial planning and analysis experience.
  • Efficiency with financial reporting software and systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills with comfort and ability to develop clear, concise and compelling executive-ready communications to various audience groups with limited guidance
  • Detail oriented.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft (e.g., excel, word and powerpoint) and Google Suites

  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with various colleagues, partners, and vendors to achieve business objectives.  
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and proactive problem-solving skills.

Location: Based at Gotham FCâs business office, which is located at 15 Exchange Place in Jersey City, New Jersey, on a hybrid working schedule which consists of three core in-office/in-person days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) and two non-core days (Monday and Friday), with the option of being in the business office or remote. Ability to attend all home games and any mandatory events as well as away games, as necessary.  A willingness to travel for other business-related needs, as they arise. Ability to work at the teamâs soccer operations office in Whippany, New Jersey, as needed. Gotham FC requires its associates to live in its market, that is, within reasonable commuting distance of Gotham FCâs offices, practice facility and Red Bull Arena.
