Reporting to the Co-President Academics, and working closely with multiple programs and campus locations, the Director, Accreditation and Program Development is responsible for the coordination of superior accreditation outcomes for American Career College as an institution as well as all academic programs, along with ensuring compliance with state academic requirements.

Responsibilities include the interpretation of institutional and programmatic accreditation as well as state-specific academic requirements. Will guide the College in developing, evaluating and revising academic policy, program and operational processes that are compliant with accreditation standards and state regulations as they apply to the College and academic programs. Develops effective relationships with accreditors and, as required, state regulators, as well as provides accurate and timely strategic and tactical counsel to administration. Ensures ongoing positive relationships between American Career College, accreditors and the states. Maintains a schedule of accreditation visits and submissions, trains and provides management tools to academic program leaders, and provides management reporting on assigned functions. Oversees and develops project plans for new programs and new campuses. Leads and oversees the academic team to ensure successful program, launches. Oversees all catalogues, academic handbook and manuals for updates and compliance.

Essentials Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the College’s Accreditation liaison with the Accrediting Bureau for Health Education Schools (ABHES). Maintains an outstanding relationship with ABHES, and ensures all requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Researches, develops, and revises academic policies to ensure academic programs meet the standards of programmatic accreditation and comply with state regulations, as they relate to the development, delivery and support of educational programs.
  • Provide guidance and develop university standard approach for managing initiatives that impact multiple functional areas.
  • Coordinates and assists academic team members in operationalizing accreditation and state requirements for program development, delivery, and support including faculty services, registrar, graduate job placement and participation in regulatory visits.

    Required Education, Certifications, and Licensures

    • Bachelor’s degree required.

      Required Experience and Skills

      • A minimum of five to seven years’ experience in an academic and/or regional health care organization, in roles of increasing leadership responsibility at a corporate/divisional level or above for a multi-faceted, multi-location organization in areas of legal services, compliance management, regulatory agencies, audit, or related fields.
      • A minimum of three to five years of overall industry related experience in accreditation or related regulatory administration with increasing responsibilities for multi-faceted, multi-college/campus direction and planning.
