The District of Columbia Courts offers internships for students interested in seeking valuable experience in court administration. Interns have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the Courts’ mission to protect rights and liberties, uphold and interpret the law, and resolve disputes fairly and effectively in the District of Columbia. The intern's primary responsibilities include the following:
Assist in ensuring applications submitted are processed in accordance with the governing statutes, and rules.
Assist in answering inquiries about the Program from the public, service providers, etc.
Assist applicants with filing applications by receiving, reviewing, and determining completeness of application.
Assist in creating electronic claims folder for each application
Assist in determining and coordinating temporary emergency housing placements for eligible claimants per request.
Assist in preparing and sending out application updates to the claimants
Assist in outreach projects, and research.
