As part of our Finance team, you'll play a crucial role in payroll processes for US and global employees. This position offers a unique opportunity for interaction with employees across various levels, locations, and departments. By providing timely, accurate, and diligent customer service to your coworkers, you'll make a visible contribution to the company as a whole.
Who will love this job:

  • An approachable and friendly communicator with great interpersonal skills and professional judgment who enjoys cultivating positive business relationships with internal and external customers
  • A highly organized team player with exceptional time management skills
  • A multitasker with impeccable attention to detail and an ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • An ethical professional with unassailable integrity and reliability who can treat confidential information with discretion
  • A critical thinker with robust analytical skills
  • An enthusiastic, results-oriented self-starter with demonstrated initiative and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills
  • A continuous learner open to coaching and long-term development

What you'll do:

  • Support the processing of semi-monthly, weekly, off-cycle, and equity transaction payrolls for approximately 900 employees across multiple locations in and outside of the US
  • Collaborate with HR, Benefits and Management teams to support accurate and timely payroll delivery
  • Utilize various software platforms to create reports to provide data to Finance, HR, SOX, FP&A and management teams on both a regular and ad hoc basis
  • Prepare fundamental monthly journal entries for payroll transactions
  • Conduct regular payroll platform audits to include multi-state tax compliance and employee data configuration
  • Provide clerical support for visa taxation, incoming mail, tax agency notices, and HRIS/Payroll system issue resolution
  • Perform semi-monthly reconciliations of payroll tax transactions and 401k contributions
  • Support various annual external audit processes with data collection and deadline adherence
  • Work closely with the Senior Payroll Administrator and Senior Payroll Manager to provide the best in support to our internal and external customers
  • Keep up to date on changes in payroll and labor law rules and regulations to ensure compliance

What you should have:

  • A minimum of three years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment (multi-country is a plus)
  • Working knowledge of payroll requirements and state and federal tax codes
  • Background in Payroll/HRIS systems utilization - UKG Pro (formerly UltiPro) and/or Dayforce is preferred, but not required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite applications (intermediate Excel and/or Google Sheets skills are required)

Pay and perks:
Schrödinger understands it's people that make a company great. Because of this, we're prepared to offer a competitive salary, stock options, and a wide range of benefits that include healthcare (with dental and vision), a 401k, pre-tax commuter benefits, a flexible work schedule, and a parental leave program. We have catered meals in the office, a company culture that is relaxed but engaged, and over a month of paid vacation time. Our Office Management team also plans a myriad of fun company-wide events. Schrödinger is honored to have been included in Newsweek's list of America's 100 Most Loved Workplaces.
Estimated base salary: $60k - $80k. Actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs. If you have any questions regarding the compensation for this role, do not hesitate to reach out to a member of our Strategic Growth team.
