Austin, United States Wise Full time

Job Description

We’re looking for a Head of Product, North America, based out of our new and growing hub in Austin, TX.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the strategy and lead teams driving our product development highest potential growing markets.

Your mission:

You’ll lead (hire, develop, grow, guide) all of our North America focused product teams, based largely in our product development hub in Austin but with connections to New York, London, and Europe.

Your remit will be; building, maintaining, and growing all of our products in North America. This includes consumer, business, and platform products, both for customers in North America and global customers moving money in North America.

You'll lead our product management teams directly, but indirectly you'll be responsible for Wise in North America - everything from problems in risk, operations and pricing, to research and financial crime prevention.

You’ll be empowered to make decisions on how and where we invest in Wise in North America. You’ll walk in the shoes of our customers and define what a seamless, localized, product looks like - something 10x better than anything else.

You will be directly responsible for hiring, developing, and supporting the product team. You’ll also guide the wider organisation across other functions (operations, analytics, risk, and everything in-between) to build great products for North America.

You’ll be one of the key drivers of our global expansion strategy. You’ll work with our wider expansion tribe to raise the bar for our expansion, growth, and payments globally.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

Redefine the standards for how global people move money around the world - this is a chance to do something that matters and will set a new high water mark for global finance.

Choose your own path to success - you’ll be empowered to define the vision, required to inspire the team around this, and have the responsibility for making it happen.

Grow and build the team that can make this happen.

Travel to work with our teams globally, as well as meet various partners and organisations when needed.

Inspire teams with your ideas, knowledge and self-starting attitude.

Qualifications:
Qualifications

You may be a good fit if:

You’ve built products at scale – You’ve worked on a product that grew to thousands or even millions of customers. You have experience growing an early stage company into something larger, but you’re also able to navigate the complexity of a product at scale.

You have delivered complex products from end to end, collaborating across functions (or departments) and getting the wider organization excited about what you’re building. If you’ve done this in US fintech before, even better (though this is not a hard requirement).

You have led and grown high-performing teams of 5-20 product managers in the past, or similar. You excel at building strong, diverse teams. You level up quality in every team you interact with.

You’re hands on and a strong individual contributor (maybe you have a background as an analyst, engineer, or designer). You thrive as a player-coach. You are able to operate at many levels of detail, flipping between executing as an individual contributor and leading a wider team. Everyone in Wise still executes projects as well, starting from our CEO.

You are able to get the team to dream big. You are able to build consensus around a multi-year vision for Wise in North America and do whatever it takes to get there.

You’re always learning and doing whatever it takes to make your product team successful. Whether it’s interviewing customers, designing UIs, writing code or modelling growth, you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and learn the skills you don’t have today to unblock your team.

You have exceptional clarity of thinking and are able to convey this simply. You bring structure to complex and fuzzy problems.

You have fresh ideas - You don’t accept the status quo, but are interested in solving problems in novel ways. You are able to communicate the impact of those ideas and formulate plans to implement them
