This position is located in the located in the Maritime and General Training Branch (MGT), Charleston Training Division (CHT), Office of Charleston Operations (CHS), Training Management Operations Directorate, Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC's), Charleston, SC.
The primary purpose of this position is is to serve as a law enforcement instructor involved in planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the MGT training program.
Typical duties include:
Serving as a law enforcement maritime instructor involved in planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the maritime training program and ensuring the proper handling of equipment and the safety of students at all times.
Conducting maritime law enforcement and port security training underway as a captain or crew member on government vessels.
Monitoring progress of students, documents results, and/or recommends remedial or corrective action to include additional training.
Developing and revises program/course material and lesson plans in the maritime instructional field. Conducts research on emerging technology, best practices, and techniques to enhance instructional knowledge and skill.
Conducting Risk and vulnerability Assessments at seaport terminals and critical infrastructures. Rotating to other programs to expand personal experience or to provide depth to the instructor cadre and/or assist in the overall mission of the CHT/MGT.
