Safety Specialist

At STG Logistics, we're seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our Intermodal Division. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for establishing and reinforcing a culture of health and safety that prevents accidents and injuries within the workplace. Your expertise will ensure that all corrective measures are implemented when required, and you'll have the support to excel at work and build a career you can be proud of.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and establish a culture of health and safety in the workplace by preparing and enforcing policies
* Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and ensure compliance with the law
* Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters, and accident prevention, including communicating data from the weekly Operations Management Report
* Monitor compliance with policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
* Partner with maintenance personnel to inspect equipment and machinery, and observe possible unsafe conditions
* Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root causes
* Recommend solutions, improvement opportunities, or preventive measures
Requirements
* 1 year of related work experience
* Experience preparing and presenting safety reports to executive management
* Experience in safety and health work
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Ability to clearly communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce
* Demonstrated supervisory skills, especially leading and motivating others to implement new processes
* Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to multitask and strong attention to detail
