Responsibilities
The department of Orthopedic Surgery is ranked amongst the top Orthopedic Departments nationwide. This unique position in Sports Medicine allows the NP or PA to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary care team including: surgeons, residents/fellows, in-patient and outpatient allied health staff. The NP or PA will assist the assigned staff consultant in all aspects of patient care in the clinical setting, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and postoperative care. Patient care in the operating room and surgical assisting is expected. Independent calendars as well as hospital rounds may be required by the assigned service and will be developed with specialty knowledge and skills. This unique position will be working directly with the Minnesota Timberwolves and providing care at Mayo Clinic Square in Minneapolis. The NP or PA will join a team in Minneapolis of highly skilled and renowned Sports Medicine Providers and a team in Rochester of 40+ Advanced Practice Providers within the orthopedic surgery department. There is potential to participate in research and publications depending on the assigned service and the needs of the Department. At this time, after-hours availability will be required, to facilitate emergent needs of the team following home practices or games.
Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Must have current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP, ACNP, or ANP.
Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Must be eligible for DEA registration.

Schedule Details
Monday-Friday, Days; 3-4 clinic days at Mayo Clinic Square in Minneapolis, 1-2 OR day at Gonda Outpatient Surgical Center in Rochester. After-hours availability will be required, to facilitate emergent needs of the team following home practices or games during Minnesota Timberwolves season.
