Hourly base pay rate is $17.40 - $26.06/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

As an entry level Battery Technician, you will receive training as you work under the supervision of a production team to work with electric vehicle battery packs to complete requirements from the operator.

Job and Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to all company policies such as attendance.
  • Follow all safety protocol such as wearing proper PPE (Reflective Vest, Steel Toe Shoes or Boots, Approved Respirators, Protective Gloves and Safety Glasses).
  • Sort materials.
  • Dissembling batteries and battery packs.
  • Utilizes test equipment to evaluate battery performance and identify performance issues.
  • Replace defective parts.
  • Assists with repair and refurbishment of batteries.
  • Provide minor diagnostic work.
  • Ensure battery fluids are properly mixed and contained.
  • Package and secure battery packs or battery part to prepare for shipping.
  • Provide minor diagnostic work to determine root cause of non-working batteries.
  • Provide repair to refurbish vehicle batteries for redeployment.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Basic knowledge of the company Quality Management System components.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years’ experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in related discipline strongly desired.  
  • Experience in the EV Battery industry preferred.

Working Environment

Variable, consisting of both the office environment and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity of moving machinery. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection and sanitary footwear.
