The Supervisor of the Marshal's Aides/Fleet Services Manager is responsible for and supervises one Assistant Supervisor of the Marshal's Aides, one Team Leader, ten Marshal's Aides and two or more Summer Assistants. Serves as the primary contact concerning the Court's vehicle management and operations. Responsible for planning, directing, managing, coordinating and supervising the programs for acquisition, assignment, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles. Supports goals and priorities for existing or revised services, programs, processes, standards or operational plans. Performs other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for supervision of Marshal's Aides personnel performance and continuous on-the-job training opportunities; acts as a mentor and coach to develop employee skills and measure performance relating to effective communication, proper workplace etiquette and collaboration with team members; completes performance appraisals based on job descriptions and provides feedback as necessary to ensure performance improvement. Makes recommendations to the Deputy Marshal - Administrative Support concerning personnel matters such as hiring, promotions and performance management. Keeps time and attendance records and approves leave.
Regularly interacts with senior management on significant matters; reviews objectives with senior management to determine success of operation; plans, directs and implements directives, instructions and requests as received. Leads Aides in supporting and servicing day-to-day activities; coordinates with the Assistant Supervisor and Team Leader on the scheduling of staff to set up and maintain the Courtroom and to escort and/or seat dignitaries, special visitors and the public during Court, at special functions and throughout the building. Ensures that all Aides are continuously trained in Courtroom Bench responsibilities. Establishes scheduling priorities on a wide variety of other requested services provided by the Marshal's Aides.
Manages the operation and control of the Court's fleet of vehicles; creates and establishes vehicle fleet policies and procedures; establishes and monitors purchasing, operational and replacement strategies and practices for most cost effective operation. Develops and administers vehicle/equipment asset management processes from procurement to disposition. Responsible for all aspects of operation, receipt, registration, inspection, maintenance and turn-in at the end of the lease period or trade after consulting with officials.
Ensures compliance with all vehicle safety standards, conducts and schedules vehicle safety training and responsible for knowing, observing and enforcing vehicle safety rules and regulations. Assigns drivers for special trips, schedules daily administrative trips, monitors the use of all vehicles and renders necessary reports and recommendations, as required.

Qualifications
The ability to supervise, coach and mentor a large staff, perform tasks under extreme pressure and make sound decisions is required. The insight to act on best judgment and accept responsibility for those actions and the actions of those under his/her supervision is required. Experience in personnel administration and records management; ability to plan, organize and work independently and to manage multiple projects is required. Provide effective leadership to foster a positive work environment and develop high performance from subordinates; proficient in fleet management software, GPS tracking systems and other tools; ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with Chambers personnel, employees and members of the public is required. A background in fleet services, vehicle maintenance, communications and general administration is strongly preferred.
Education
A college degree is required, and two years or more of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
