We are hiring an Account Manager Trainee. In this role, you will be learning hands-on how to broker potatoes. You will be focused on the sales process while gaining an understanding of our current customers. You will assist with current accounts (over 50% of your focus) while also expanding sales in the potato market. You would focus on driving profitable sales while providing exceptional customer service throughout the process. Join a small team that works extremely well together has enjoyed recent growth and looks forward to continued expansion.

Our ideal candidate will bring a strong interest in sales and will be highly driven to learn and succeed in the role. The role is based in Greenville, MI in the office with the team.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic sourcing of packaged potatoes, supplier relationship management, contract, performance, and risk management
  • Maximize sales with existing customers while prospecting for new business and grow our overall book of business
  • Address vendor issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery
  • Maintain contractual and business relationships with vendors
  • Plan and execute effective negotiation processes with vendors
  • Stay up-to-date on produce industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive products to identify opportunities and challenges
  • Build strong relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, agriculture, or a related field preferred
  • Strong interest in sales, brokering or category management of packaged potatoes and the produce market
  • Previous exposure to sales, marketing, and purchasing particularly within the agricultural or produce industry
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with vendors and farmers
  • Self-motivated and driven to learn
