PlayOn Sports is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join our Accounting team. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a talented Revenue Accountant to join our finance team. The Revenue Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. This position will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and finance, to analyze contracts, assess revenue implications, and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Additional responsibilities and accountabilities for this role could include:

• Review and analyze customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.

• Prepare and maintain revenue schedules, including deferred revenue, revenue accruals, and reconciliation of related accounts.

• Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely billing and revenue recognition.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve revenue-related issues and discrepancies.

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to revenue recognition, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of revenue recognition policies and procedures.

• Prepare revenue-related disclosures for financial statements and support external audit requirements.

• Support management in ad-hoc projects and initiatives related to revenue accounting and reporting.


THE PERSON


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• CPA certification preferred.

• 4+ years of experience in revenue accounting or related field, preferably in a publicly traded company or public accounting firm.

• Strong understanding of ASC 606 and other revenue recognition guidance.

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite and Advanced Revenue Recognition) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

• Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and integrity in all aspects of work.
