In this position as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist, you will serve as a Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security Analyst providing mission critical assessments an validations for Coast Guard (CG) Information Systems (IS), Platform IT (PIT) and PIT Systems (PITS) that are used to carry out CG missions.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.  Typical duties include:

- Assisting in the development and review of policies and procedures to ensure reliability and accessibility of IS PIT and PITS and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.

- Conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs.

- Conducting security validations, or comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls in CG IS PIT and PITS to determine the extend in which RMF security controls are implemented correctly, operating as intended, and producing the desired outcome with respect to meeting the security requirements for the system.

- Assessing and reviewing programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand and adhere to systems security policies and procedures.

- Ensuring the application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices are correctly implemented for all CG IT services.

- Assessing and reviewing CG IT security test plans and procedures to ensure the test plan addresses the correct level of effort and is sufficiently comprehensive to validate all Cybersecurity requirements applicable to the CGIT system or site being certified and accredited.
