Suummary:

Reports on functional unit materials management practices/standards and communicates with the (JHH) Director of Materials Management on corporate materials management practices/standards. Accountable for evaluation and selection of equipment, supplies, and instruments for direct patient care and patient support areas. Accountable for effective cost control, delivery, distribution, inventory, and evaluation of electronic inventory systems for supplies, and instruments for assigned patient and patient support areas. Plans, implements and evaluates Materials Management programs, activities and hospital policies/procedures necessary to ensure cost effective efficient operation. Works with facilities and clinical engineering about equipment issues and concerns. Coordination, consolidation and execution of operations support to the inpatient nursing units, including facility renovations and upgrades, project orders, maintenance orders, communication requests, information systems, non routine office supplies, and elaborate print shop orders.

Requirments:

Requires a professional level of knowledge of hospital materials management and Hospital equipment or related field.

Requires two to three years of experience in materials management or equipment management, bachelors required or equivalent experience

Requires an understanding of materials, equipment inventory control activities, and an understanding of automated inventory control systems, as well as computer knowledge (hardware & software) to develop customized reporting as necessary.

Knowledge:

Work requires general knowledge of functional unit and institutional policies and procedures.
