Duties

You will serve as a Educational Technician providing a normal range of lead caregiver functions and will report to the Director of the Child Development Center (CDC).

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.  Typical work assignments include: 

  • Providing specialized developmental care and instruction for children enrolled in a program setting.
  • Performing daily planning activities and providing oversight to co-workers in a designated classroom.
  • Maintaining records of progress in areas such as growth and motor skills development.
  • Preparing progress reports for each child.
  • Observing and reporting significant individual and group behavior of children to management and parents.
  • Conducting parent/caregiver conferences.
  • Participating in training programs, conferences, courses, and other activities aimed at promoting professional growth and mandated training hours.
