POSITION SUMMARY

The Equipment Care Technician is responsible for installing and uninstalling Omnitrac in-cab electronic log devices. Preforming and assisting in preventative maintenance and D.O.T. inspections

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assemble, test, install, and uninstall all ELDs fleet-wide.
  • Read and understand technical manuals for equipment operations and maintenances related to Omnitracs ELDs.
  • Adhere to preventive maintenance procedures to avoid equipment failures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
  • Maintain documentation of equipment maintenance and repair procedures for future reference procedures.
  • Maintain inventory control ELDs
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and verifying accuracy of repair on diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, free rolling axles, brake systems, all electrical systems, suspensions, tires, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to include but not limited to oil changes, chassis lubes, brake inspections, filter replacements, full DOT inspections, etc. on both powered and non-powered assets
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • CDL-A (Preferred)
  • Successful completion and passing of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Experience working in a shop setting is a plus.
  • The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
  • Ability to accurately document repairs completed to include troubleshooting steps and parts used on a specific job
  • Eagerness to learn and complete training to further your maintenance knowledge
  • Willingness to work as a team to achieve one common goal- driver uptime
