Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing event production for Competition Services at Palisades Tahoe

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $20.54 - $29.38 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Must be able and willing to provide all customers and employees with top quality customer service in all situations at all times.
  • Carries up to 45 lbs. of race equipment to course site.
  • Oversees Race and Event production
  • Assists with set up and tear down of timing system.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate on two-way radio in appropriate language.
  • Helps to develop ongoing training programs for staff.
  • Assists in scheduling of employees and planning for events
  • Additional responsibilities in regards to competitions.
  • Work with Ski and Snowboard sales desk.
  • Communicates with marketing about upcoming events.

Required:

  • Must have experience with and an understanding of race organization.
  • Knowledge of ski and/or snowboard racing.
  • Must be able to carry up to 45 lbs. of race equipment to course sites under all snow conditions.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented person.
  • Must be able to work in high stress type situations.
  • Computer skills Must be able to ski to/from competition sites.
  • Event management skills.
  • USSA Chief of Race, Chief of Course certified
  • Skilled in customer relations and conflict resolution


Experience/ Education

Required:

  • Chief of Race and Chief of Course certification through USSA.
  • High School Diploma
  • Computer skills, Excel, Microsoft Word
  • Strong math skills.
  • Event management (ski racing) experience.


Preferred:

  • Other Officials certifications from USSA

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must be capable of walking, standing or skiing 70% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. The employee must be capable of occasionally lifting and pushing or pulling 100 lbs. or more, and frequently lifting, pushing or pulling, and carrying up to 45 lbs. The employee must be capable of walking on uneven terrain, walking on snow and ice, skiing on difficult terrain in varying weather conditions. Must be able to bend, kneel, reach and crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include night vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in outside weather conditions on a snow surface. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee will be frequently exposed to extreme cold and wet conditions. There is an occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electric shock.
