The Finance North America Freight Payment Process Owner supports the end to end process of freight payment:from SAP source system through CASS payment interfaces,through accounting in the general ledger and finance related reporting processes in order to drive process standardization,achieving higher first-pass invoice yield, andenabling better controls and enable improved reporting to Logistics and business partners. The selected candidate will be accountable for driving the adoption of new system processes, including the detail design, critical maintenance activities (e.g. master data, tables, etc.) and continuous improvement actions. The Finance Freight Payment process owner will monitor the “health” and remediate (as needed) the sustained delivery of objectives from the Logistics Modernization Project strategies and operations as they relate to Freight Payment, Accounting and Reporting.

H/She will accomplish that through partnering with regional and centered Controllership, Business Finance, Logistics, Operations, IT and 3rd party service providers in a network designed to ensure/maintain timely, accurate and well-controlled outcomes in handling, paying, accounting and report of freight related costs. Your Key Responsibilities: Provide freight payment process guidance and support to the LMP project leads. Partner with LMP to deliver robust reporting and analytics to support fact-based decision making.

Support metrics data capture, analysis and reporting as input to performance scorecard with Cass associated with Contract Management. Provides finance perspective for the enhancements within Cass outlined in the LMP project design. Accountable to work with Logistics to help implement and drive enhancements.

Review data from research conducted, internal surveys and carrier feedback and resulting analyses to develop process enhancements. Monitor reporting to assess the effectiveness of enhancements and compliance. Partner to establish and sustain process standards at the global, regional, and in-country level, assuring Finance freight payment processes are delivered consistently and adhere to proper internal controls.

Single point of contact within Finance for the triage and resolution of freight payment related performance and reporting issues. Accountable for the Trans Audit post audit activities ensuring open claims are valid and recovered, commission is deducted correctly, and refunds are deposited in the same month received. Support controls and compliance monitoring, testing, and reporting.

Ensure end-to-end Cass freight payment activities are performed to the agreed Service Agreement commitments. Monitor compliance with service level expectations as defined in LMP Project Agreements with customer organizations (APL, BDP & SLI), assuring that our carriers get paid accurately and on time. Monitor non-match pay processes to ensure minimized and that appropriate reviews and processes are executed to confirm materially correct disposition on the financial statements.

Partner with the DSCI freight payment team to establish and ensure accurate and timely freight accruals for financial statements and establish monthly meetings with the freight payment team to monitor and elevate freight payment issues. Your Qualification Profile: Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related fieldSignificant relevant experience from a prior or current role is requiredGreat depth of operational Procurement, Logistics, Finance and/or Strategic Sourcing experience. Experience with SAP, and Cass Freight system is required.4+ years of end-to-end freight payment experience is required.

Shared Services experience a plus. Excellent collaborator with demonstrated capability to partner with other business functions and internal stakeholders, as well as suppliers across cultures. Strong communication skills (oral, written and listening, facilitation).

Ability to manage day to day activities and lead project improvements. Ability to transform data into meaningful and actionable insights. Ability to work with many levels of personnel.

Thoroughness, ability to think strategically but appreciate the details. Results oriented. Excellent analytical skills, initiative, and follow-up.
