Reporting directly the President of Kuehne+Nagel Inc US and the Global Head of Sustainability, you will spearhead our commercial and internal sustainability initiatives to ensure our Living ESG Roadmap goals are met. You will utilize your logistics knowledge and expertise in sustainability best practices to build strong relationships with the business and be our top client-facing sustainability expert. Working collaboratively with your global peers, you will have the opportunity to enhance our global programs and practices while serving as a strong contributor to projects within the global sustainability group. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate sustainability professional. Your Responsibilities
  • Align with the Global Sustainability team and other KN countries on directions and best practices.
  • Be a champion, actively promoting our initiatives at industry expositions and panels.
  • Craft and deliver compelling sustainability presentations tailored to our customersâ needs within all KN business units.
    Be the top client facing sustainability expert and develop a strong relationship with all business units and relevant functional units.
  • Utilize a deep understanding of all of our sustainable products and pricing mechanisms to identify upselling opportunities with customers, in partnership with the business.
  • Track and measure CO2 impact on KN USA, Canada and Latin America sustainability initiatives across all business units.
  • Lead the strategy direction with our Road carriers to procure electric vehicles.
  • Understand local social initiatives and community support, leveraging country level projects to global initiatives.
  • Develop ESG capabilities in national employees, including trainings
  • Identify and respond to regional or national ESG regulations, and where appropriate influence development
  • This position reports to the President of Kuehne + Nagel Inc and to the Global Head of Sustainability.
  • Some travel may be required.
Your Skills and Experiences
  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in a related field such as Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility, Environmental Science, or other Life Sciences is preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in climate change, environment, or sustainability in transport, fleet or logistics sectors.
  • Experience in implementing social sustainability initiatives is an advantage.
  • Experience of corporate GHG reporting against carbon accounting standards and global ESG reporting frameworks. In particular, complex scope 3 reporting and of science-based carbon reduction targets and net zero pathways.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to connect with different customer stakeholder levels, from C-Suite to transportation managers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
