This position serves as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and Information Security Team Leader, responsible for developing, promoting, and administering CGCYBER’s Information System Security Program and with developing and enforcing Information System (IS) security policies, monitoring Coast Guard data networks and Information Technology (IT) systems, and providing consulting and advisory services to CGCYBER Command staff, subordinate commands, Departments/Divisions/Branches, program/project managers, and users.

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard Team. Typical work assignments include:

Providing Information Security guidance to CGCYBER Command and Sub-Command personnel to ensure system C&A and sustainment of ATO designation.
Coordinating and scheduling meetings, developing and distributing agendas, meeting minutes, tracking action items, and participating in project management (PMR), integrated logistic system (ILS), Information System Security Assessment (ISSA) activities and reviews.
Advising on Information Security matters related to performance, effectiveness, efficiency, contractor costs, budget, and program execution.
Ensuring all systems (internal and external to CGCYBER) are certified and accredited by the Designated Accreditation Authority (DAA).
Planning, executing, and overseeing CGCYBER computer information security program in accordance with agency policy. 
Overseeing investigation and resolution of Information Security breaches that negatively impact or could negatively FISMA Certification and Accreditation and result in a loss of ATO.
