The Senior Director of Principal and Major Gifts reports to the Vice President for Advancement and Chief Development Officer and is responsible for overseeing the Principal, Major Gifts, Annual Giving, and Membership fundraising programs to support the school’s academic and performance programs, scholarship, events, endowment campaign, special projects and general operations in line with priorities and annual fiscal goals. The Senior Director works closely with the President, administrative leadership, Division and Department heads and Board members to develop strategy to engage, solicit, and steward donors and prospects.
Salary: $225,000 to $250,000 per year

Role Responsibilities:
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible fundraising and leadership experience in advancement, preferably in a performing arts organization or educational institution. A proven track record of success in securing six, seven, and eight figure gifts. The credibility, maturity, and sound judgement required to effectively engage and leverage senior leaders and volunteers in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of key prospects and donors. A deep commitment to the arts and genuine interest in and appreciation for the school’s history, achievements, and prominent role in the national and international cultural community. Flexibility and willingness to participate in evening and weekend events, and to travel as needed. Advanced proficiency in Raiser’s Edge NXT or other fundraising databases and Microsoft Office Suite·
Preferred Background:
A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
