HDR is currently seeking a Transit Section Manager to join our Minnesota/Wisconsin team.
Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Transit Section Manager, we'll count on you to:
- Lead a team of transit staff supporting projects related to bus rapid transit, passenger rail, commuter rail, light rail, and streetcar systems and facilities
- Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support
- Work with business group managers, business development leaders, accounting, project coordinators, and management as necessary for project delivery and marketing
- Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities
- Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
- Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews
- Be directly involved with public clients in marketing, project production and related issues. Serve as client manager for our major local clients
- See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management
- Implement, monitor and support company policy
- Hire, train, develop and manage technical personnel
- Manage and develop multidiscipline teams
- Work cooperatively with Market Sector and Business Class leadership in local and national marketing and production efforts
- Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of 10 years experience
- Professional registration (PE) or license
- Requires in-office collaboration often (3-4 days a week on average) at HDR's St. Louis Park office
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- Experience within public agencies in Minnesota and Wisconsin
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
