Responsible for the safe and efficient organization and operation of the repairs and maintenance department, including all lodge units, association property, mechanical systems and associated areas.  Responsible for the oversight of the day to day operations at Hotel Terra, oversite of Victor Employee Housing, and to adhere to all budgeting and fiduciary standards set forth by NHHR Corporate Headquarters. 

JOB DUTIES 

  • Monitor the daily operation of the repairs and maintenance department in Hotel Terra

  • Assess priorities and address accordingly.

  • Enforce company and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Manage and control purchasing to ensure department is within budget.

  • Responsible for creating and facilitating a preventative maintenance schedule.

  • Enforce hotel standards, policies and procedures with staff.

  • Direct and evaluate performance of staff through follow-up and training.              

  • Hire and supervise maintenance team.

  • Develop training programs to ensure effective results.

  • Establish and ensure compliance with guest service standards.

  • Utilize inventories to provide high quality maintenance of the units.

  • Develop a positive rapport with all owners, associations and board members.

  • Assume responsibility for implementation of policies and procedures set forth by Hotel Terra & Teton Mountain Lodge.

  • Initiate and maintain effective communication within department and between all other departments and associates including email and verbal communication

  • Ensure that grooming and conduct standards for all associates are enforced.

  • Provide feedback to management and owners on specific maintenance and repair needs. 

RESPONSIBILTY 

  • Be ready and willing to complete the job as necessary.

  • Be an example to all employees.

  • Educate all staff on health and safety procedures and policies. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • Has thorough knowledge and understanding of general repairs and maintenance.

  • Proven track record working with information technology systems.

  • Experience with fire and life safety systems.

  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.  Will interact with guests and homeowners to provide efficient and effective results as related to repairs and maintenance. 

  • Maintain a close working relationship with team members and department heads from all areas of the hotel.

  • This position is on call 24 hours a day.  One must be flexible to work long hours to ensure the smooth operation of the Engineering department.

  • This position requires the ability to communicate and make sound judgment calls when evaluating problems and situations in order to expedite the resolution.  Additionally, it is necessary to take a proactive role and mange by example.
