Job Description:

This role is responsible for developing and implementing an effective change management strategy for key programs in Mars Pet Nutrition, Smart Factory Program.

This associate will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize associate adoption of strategic changes while minimizing resistance. This role will be critical to ensure network digital end to end Supply projects are successfully facilitated and delivered on time to support the ambitions of Pet Nutrition’s OGSM.  This includes working directly with the Program Team to deploy the program capturing the Associates’ hearts and minds for the changes, embed behavior shifts, and maximizing the desired results of the initiatives.

This role will also provide direct support and coaching to senior leaders as they help their teams through several transitions. In addition to change management, this role is responsible for facilitating project teams to successfully plan projects to allow for focus on execution, improved visibility to risks and issues, and will help to establish a culture of discipline and excellence in execution.

Initiatives are enterprise-wide and business critical and involve a high degree of planning, complexity, and risk. This is a temporary role that will support a 2.5 year digital, robotics & automation project (Smart Factory), ending at the end of 2026. 

Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge/Experience Required Experience in effectively managing and/or actively leading/participating in a deployment of a large, cross-functional organizational change 

Experience with cross-functional teams  

Strong understanding and demonstrated application change management methodologies (Prosci is preferred, other CM methodologies desirable), frameworks, and tools 

Experience in managing and/or deep involvement in a multi-work stream program/PMO 

Delivers cross-functional support to the project team through recurrent project meetings, creates/maintains risk register, interdependencies, project plan and action log (experience in JIRA preferred) 

Compiles and delivers project reports for business leadership and provides meeting notes and ensures completion of any resulting actions 

Provides primary support for the functions leading the project: Project Leader, DT, D&A, Engineering, MSE, Manufacturing, Commercial, R&D, Quality for example 

Reports and escalates risks/issues and recommendations to the appropriate Steering Group(s) as required 

Ensures clear and visible deliverables and ensures that project plans will deliver the Critical Success Factors agreed for the project 

Depth of knowledge and experience working within the Mars organizational culture 

Ensures successful delivery of Digital projects to enable OGSM growth and reduce costs 

Context and Scope:

Work with the Program Team to build and communicate a solid change management strategy and the vision for the transformations for multiple audiences – impacted associates, affected Associates and all Associates. 

In partnership with the Program Manager, provide insights to the program team to define their goals and expectations in leading through change, including their levels of commitment and ability to influence the change process, delivering upon the vision of the respective initiatives 

Develop, track/measure and report on success metrics to monitor effective change progress 

Incorporate key change management methodologies to drive alignment, engagement and minimize disruption 

Assist with program reporting and project management status in project management tool (such as JIRA) 

Mobilizes and motivates others, whilst driving direction and approach 

Resolves conflicts and delivers tough messages with grace 

Successfully navigates complex matrix organizations (organizational agility) 

Learns from experiences, and applies that learning to perform successfully under new or first-time conditions 

Flexes and adapts interpersonal style to work effectively with a diversity of people 

Communicates effectively at all levels of the organization with clarity and precision, both written and verbal 

Removes barriers to project delivery, and works effectively under pressure 

Drives the sharing of best practice to challenge and improve ways of working  

Applies, flexes, and adapts PMO Frameworks to ensure best practice delivery 

Comfort with managing without authority 

Education & Professional Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Communications or Business Administration/Management or equivalent experience. 

Knowledge/Experience:

3+years Project Management/Business experience 

Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal  

Experience across multiple business functions desired 

Demonstrable experience of facilitating and delivering multiple complex projects at a cross-functional or enterprise-wide level  

Demonstrable experience of working within a structured project environment 

Demonstrable experience of applying a Project Management Methodology

 

Demonstrable understanding of business process and change management

  

Functional skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint, JIRA 

Prosci Certified (preferred)
