What to Expect

The PLM/CAD Platform Operations team delivers business outcomes for two customer cohorts: the platform product teams that develop Tesla's PLM/CAD software platform, and the Engineers that use the platform to design Tesla's consumer products. The platform product teams need reliable access to environments for development and testing, and an automated tool chain for promotion, testing, and deployment. End users need highly performant and reliable tools to collaborate on design ofTesla's products. While software operations involving large CAD assemblies are resource-intensive, and our tools must keep up with our Engineer's imaginations. 

The team consists of veteran Site Reliability and DevOps Engineers. As the Software Product Managerfor the team, you will identify and prioritize the most important problems tosolve for your customers, collaborate with the team to deliver solutions, and measure outcomes. 

This role is basedout of Austin, TX or Palo Alto, CA. 

What You’ll Do
  • Discover and prioritize the most important problems to solve through deep understanding of your customers and their needs  
  • Define metrics for measuring business impact and use them to make data-driven prioritization decisions  
  • Define and socialize product vision, strategy, and an outcome-based roadmap, in alignment with those of the platform product teams 
  • Prepare actionable epics, stories, and bugs and collaborate with the Technical Lead on maintaining a prioritized backlog for the team, balancing business outcomes with tasks that enable the team to reliably deliver customer value at a sustainable pace 
  • Validate that delivered solutions solve intended business objectives by applying predefined measures 
  • Coordinate release of software, including release notes, documentation, training, and internal marketing, in the context of platform operations 
What You’ll Bring
  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Manager for complex software products 
  • Experience operating large scale software products as a service with user-centered production metrics 
  • Experience using Agile methodologies to collaborate directly with a Software Engineering team  
  • Strong focus on user-centered design and measurable outcomes
