What will I do in this position if hired?
This supervisory position leads and oversees accounts receivable activities in the Debt Management Unit in the Accounts Receivable (AR) Section, within the FEMA Finance Center, Financial Management Division of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. The Accounts Receivable section is responsible for the overall management and reporting of all non-Federal accounts receivables for FEMA. This includes billings, debt management, account maintenance, and customer service. Duties include, overseeing a team responsible for:
Overseeing a team that provides customer service to FEMA debtors through the FEMA Recoupment Helpline.
Establishing accounts receivable, issue bills, monitor delinquent accounts, and evaluate requests for payment plans.
Reviewing and approving transactions, reconciliations, adjustments, and refunds.
Evaluating programs, policy, processes, and systems to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Preparing ad hoc reports requested by customers including FEMA management, financial and other auditors, and Congress.
Compiling data required for various activities to include support for debt validity, debt collection actions, and Treasury claims.
Demonstrate leadership within a team environment in managing priorities related to organization objectives.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
