The Banquet and Events Manager is a seasonal position and the lead for all teams for events on property. This individual is responsible for relaying all event details to the staff working the event and being able to direct the team as needed throughout the run of the event.

  • This role is an essential member of the events team, reporting directly to the Event Manager and working in conjunction with the Event Manager Assistant, to execute all weddings, corporate, public, and other events onsite.Responsibilities:
    • Plan and oversee execution of events, coordinating with the client, vendors, and all HBY departments.
    • Serve as the facility contact on the day of the event.
    • Ensure events are completed smoothly and resolve any issues that arise.
    • Maintain HBY standards for service, food presentation, and bar and beverage presentation.
    • Supervise banquet staff for events, including scheduling and directing in-house and contracted personnel.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for banquet staff during events, ensuring clear communication of event timelines and requirements.
    • Manage event inventories and maintain accurate records of event supplies.
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of event details, schedules, client preferences, and Run-of-Show (ROS) details.
    • Keep team calendars updated and ensure event schedules are current and accessible.
    • Oversee vendor load-in/load-out
    • Establish and maintain organizational systems in kitchen and event storage spaces.
    • Monitor performance of events staff and participate in interviewing and recruiting new staff members.
    • Provide regular updates and collaborate with MOD to ensure successful event outcomes.
    • Attend staff and BEO meetings and report on upcoming event needs.
    • Analyze event success and prepare reports.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ideal candidate must have at least 2-3 years food and beverage or event experience.
  • Ability to promote and maintain a positive, productive work environment for all associates
  • Detail oriented with emphasis on continuous process improvement
  • Ability to distribute any and all information effectively, based on from other departments to the front office team to execute
  • Ability to work independently within a framework
  • Provide exceptional service to all property guests
  • Acting Manager on duty as needed
  • Seasonal role could lead full time role
