Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

- Preparing and performing experimental tests on DTC compressors, including instrumentation setup, to evaluate the performance of the electrical/electronic components.
- Post-processing and draw conclusions on the data collected during compressor testing.
- Set up and run finite elements simulations to evaluate the electromagnetic performance of high-speed electric motor and/or magnetic bearing systems.
- Investigating root-cause analysis and troubleshooting possible issues related to the performance of high-speed electric motors and magnetic bearing systems.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering. Seniors and grad students preferred.
- Sound knowledge of electromagnetic devices like actuators and electric motors.
- Experience on properly setting instruments (i.e. power analyzer, oscilloscope) for testing electric devices.
- Able to contribute as a member of an organized project team of engineers.
- Analytical and technical skills with a strong desire to learn.
- Experience with motor-drive systems and power converters control technologies.
- Experience on simulation tools (MATLAB, Ansys Electromagnetic is a plus).
- Availability to work 15-20 hours/week.
- Candidates must be located within 50 miles of the work location.
