As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and managing theoretical simulation programs of national or international scope. This includes the design and development of large, complex systems that result in major advancements in the state-of-the-art of broad technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and demonstrate plans for Uncrewed Lunar Surface Systems (LSS) and Moon-to-Mars (M2M) Operations and Support efforts.
- Provide decision-making functions and engineering expertise in the formulation and implementation of plans developed by the Lunar Architecture Team (LAT) and the Mars Architecture Team (MAT).
- Serve as an expert consultant in the resolution of challenging aerospace engineering problems on projects of national or international scope and impact.
- Foster a culture of engagement, diversity, inclusiveness, excellence, and innovation.
To be eligible for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, physical science, mathematics, or computer science. You must also have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions, which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work.
