About the Opportunity: The Corporate Counsel is responsible for negotiating complex agreements. Assist the VP, Corporate Law & Privacy Officer on legal support of the company in other areas such as Corporate Development deals, employment law and environmental/ESG. This role will be based in Redwood City, CA.

In this role you will be responsible for: Lead contract negotiator on complex agreements, including deals involving IP licensing. Responsible for creating and refining company's approach, from a legal perspective, to partnering with customers and collaborators on our core technology. Support the company in other substantive areas of law, including employment, privacy, ESG/environment, and other areas of compliance.
The essential requirements of the job include: JD, member of California Bar. 5+ years' experience negotiating complex agreements involving IP licensing. Direct experience in drug innovator / manufacturing industry.
Additional experience that would be valuable for this role includes: Prior in house counsel experience
CODEXIS PAY TRANSPARENCY: The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Redwood City is $152,500 to $185,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Codexis is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
