Serving as a Law Enforcement Specialist (Charleston Training Instructor) GS-1801-12 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is within the Maritime and General Training Branch (MGT), Charleston Training Division (CHT), Office of Charleston Operations (CHS), Training Management Operations Directorate (TMO), under the Office of the Associate Director for Training Operations and located in Charleston, South Carolina.

This position serves as a Law Enforcement Specialist (Charleston Training Instructor) responsible to service as a general training instructor, which involved planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the MGT training program.

Typical duties include:
Planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and practical exercises, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the CHT.
Using the lesson plan(s) as a guide, conducts training in; Advanced Interviewing, Investigative Techniques, Control Substance Identification, Driver Training, Obtaining Detailed Written Statements and Law Enforcement Instructor Training.
Monitoring the progress of students and documenting results to include recommending corrective action(s) such as adjusting training delivery; additional training or remedial training.
Participating in the development and revisions of program/course material and lesson plans to include making recommendations for program/course content changes.
Participating in Curriculum Design and Review Conferences, and ad hoc committees made up of representatives of the FLETC and other agencies concerned with training policies and academic requirements.
