The Department of Pediatrics of Northwell Health and The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell seeks a mid-career or senior level Neonatologist to join the Division of Neonatology at Cohen Children's Medical Center (CCMC) as the Medical Director of the busy level IV NICU.

This position requires someone with strong clinical, operational, and leadership skills, as well as experience in neonatal care, quality and safety to lead the clinical service of this high acuity 57-bed unit. The medical director will join our group of 40 neonatologists, 12 Neonatal-Perinatal fellows, 12 advanced practice neonatal care providers, and a large multidisciplinary team of NICU care professionals. They will lead clinical quality improvement activities in the CCMC NICU, monitor and supervise activities of attending physicians, and actively participate in Neonatal Service Line initiatives. They will also assist the Division Director in program expansion both at CCMC and across the Neonatal Service line.

The successful candidate will have a MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school, completed Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship with Board Certification, and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive clinical and leadership experience. They must be licensed or eligible to be licensed as a physician in the State of New York.

The CCMC NICU, ranked 27 th in the country by US News and World Report in 2023, enjoys the full support of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists representing all disciplines in our busy children's hospital. Our unit offers all neonatal services, including high frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, ECMO, advanced nutrition strategies, and both air and ground neonatal transport. There is significant opportunity to teach fellows, residents, and medical students. Academic appointment at The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is commensurate with experience. The compensation package is competitive and includes salary, fringe benefits, malpractice insurance and CME time.

The Northwell Health Neonatal Service Line includes 10 hospitals with obstetric services that deliver approximately 30,000 babies each year. Eight of these have a level II, III, or IV NICU with in-house Neonatology coverage. Northwell hosts two Regional Perinatal Centers that are fully integrated in clinical and quality activities.

Cohen Children's Medical Center opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area's first hospital designed exclusively for children. Today, it is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region, treating over 230,000 children per year and serving 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. It is the quaternary pediatric medical center of Northwell Health and the only Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center on Long Island. We are proud to have been selected as one of "America's Best Children's Hospitals" by US News & World Report for 13 years in a row.
