Civil Litigation Legal Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Legal Assistant to support our team of attorneys. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense/Community Association, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys handling insurance defense/community association cases.
- Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery responses.
- File legal documents with courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
- Assist with the preparation of deposition summaries, trial binders, and case files.
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files and document management systems.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and insurance representatives regarding case status, scheduling, and filings.
- Schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and other case-related events.
- Manage calendars and track deadlines to ensure timely filing of all legal documents.
- Assist in gathering, organizing, and reviewing discovery materials, including medical records, accident reports, and witness statements.
- Perform other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in insurance defense, community association, or general litigation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with legal case management software, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and e-filing systems.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and community association litigation processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
