How You Will Make an Impact
  • Support the overall management of pricing team by driving the strategy and success of projects, as assigned.
  • Oversees the production of statistical experience , including overall rate level indications and more granular experience studies as needed
  • Collaborating with the Rate Committee members to determine necessary rate change proposals including rate revisions as well as policyholder impacts
  • Oversees the filing materials for filings, including explanation and justification for all proposed changes and other relevant exhibits needed by the various departments of insurance.
  • Oversees the responses to questions and objections raised by the various insurance departments in response to our filings.
  • Ensuring that the result of the team's work products are appropriately communicated externally as needed.
  • Establishes operational objectives, policies, and procedures for the pricing team in support of the overall pricing strategy
  • Monitor correspondence of the Actuarial Department as a whole to evaluate potential impact on pricing work, and to verify consistency of related actuarial work products.
  • Training others on pricing and rate analysis as needed.
  • Working with the leadership, and other stakeholders to prioritize work requests as needed.
  • Leverage tools and resources to provide industry and peer analysis.
  • Proactively perpetuates the culture.
  • Effectively communicates strategy and priorities, sets expectations, holds team accountable, and gets results.
  • Coaches/develops/pushes team to get better.
  • Effectively evaluates performance of the team and individuals on the team.
  • Works appropriately across departments and across offices to accomplish corporate objectives and priorities.
  • Manages resources appropriately - staffing, workloads, budget.

What You Will Bring
  • Master's degree in Actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field and 4 years of related including 1 year of management experience
    • Or Bachelor's degree in Actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field and 6 years of related experience including 1 year of management experience
    • Or 8 years of related experience including 1 year of management experience
    • ACAS
  • Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills
  • Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
  • Good understanding of Central Insurance's policies and processes

  • Personal Lines experience
  • Strong academic and math background
  • Strong PC skills
  • Strong experience with SQL, Python, R, VBA and other programming languages
  • Database knowledge
  • FCAS
