Quality Engineer, Seats Assembly

This role will support the production of high quality seats assembly through the continual improvement of process and product quality.
What You’ll Do- Lead efforts with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and production teams to ensure design drawings, manufacturing instructions, inspection instructions, tooling are consistent and complete
- Lead problem-solving teams; use of QA methodologies to manage and facilitate issue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions
- Support the development of Design and Process FMEA
- Establish and maintain control plans to assure critical features are controlled through the assembly/production processes
- Conducting the capability studies and implementing SPC’s controls
- Lead/facilitate review and disposition of discrepant materials identified for control of nonconforming product
- Establish quality performance metrics and drive issues to true root cause solutions
- Audit manufacturing line against released manufacturing processes and procedures
- Lead/perform product containment activities and arrange for disposition
- Support and generate continuous improvement ideas and work on cost reduction projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or with equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in automotive seating or interiors (JIT preferred)
- Familiarity with compliances and Legal requirement of automotive seating regulation
- Experience in GD&T and Quality systems in a manufacturing environment
- Training and demonstrated success in applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE, SPC, Six Sigma etc.
