Project Overview:

Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI), Bechtel’s government services business, is one of the top providers to departments and agencies of the U.S. and British governments. Its successes include many large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security. This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

 

UPF is a a milti year, multi billion dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.

 

UPF is currently on a 4/10's schedule but is subject to change

 

Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check. All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.

 

Job Summary:

Help Desk Operations

In this role, you will lead the team responsible for 24x7 front line help desk support. You will define process standards, oversee performance metrics, prioritize opportunities for process improvement, and design and implement complex IT Service Management processes. You will ensure IT services meet established standards for value, customer satisfaction and service level objective performance.  

IT Service Management

In this role, you will lead a team to define, design, design and implement complex IT Service Management processes. You will oversee process metrics, review and prioritize opportunities for development, and drive process improvements. Your management of IT Services will ensure alignment with established strategy for value, customer satisfaction, and service level objective performance. 

Local Infrastructure/Deskside Operations

In this role, you will lead the infrastructure service implementation and support team to drive complex process improvements across the enterprise. You will identify the effort level of deploying new technologies and guide cross-functional teams on standards, new scope, and support efforts. You will ensure alignment with strategy for value, customer satisfaction, and service level performance. 

Mobility & Wireless Operations

In this role, you will lead the Mobility Support team and define policies, procedures, and standards to be employed throughout the IT management process of mobile and wireless devices. You will prioritize opportunities for improvement, design and implement solutions, and supervise the necessary actions to ensure IT services meet standards for value, customer satisfaction, and service level performance. #LI-LO1

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Directs and manages the implementation of the Project Automation Plan for the life cycle of the project and coordinates with all functions on the turnover requirements.
  • Interfaces with the client’s Infrastructure and Support teams on all operating system, network, and application updates.
  • Interfaces with the client’s networking team to manage the deployment of network infrastructure in support of construction initiatives.
  • Participates in the Recovery Site Team and Damage Assessment Team in the event of a disaster.
  • Interfaces regularly with vendors regarding hardware, software, and communications capabilities.
  • Leads, directs, and trains team members on Information Technology (IT) processes and tools on various projects of a complex nature.
  • The role will require the candidate to monitor automation support issues and expedite as necessary.
  • Interfaces regularly with the client’s Cyber Security team to ensure both hardware and software deployments meet all cyber requirements and obtain required cyber approvals.
  • Develops and directs the implementation and integration of IT systems and services in coordination with project functions.
  • The role will require coordination between various functions to ensure that automation requirements on the project are met in a timely manner.
  • As part of normal job duties, may be required to be in an on-call status to be able to promptly respond to and address user/customer needs.
  • Ensures that all required physical and cybersecurity protocols are adhered to as required.
  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees on the project.
  • The role may be required to work overtime or varying hours.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience managing IS&T spending to meet customer needs within the approved budget.
  • Experience with the management of Active Directory users and groups.
  • Experience supporting OS, network, and application updates.
  • Experience planning and deploying network infrastructure.
  • Ability to identify, track, escalate, and resolve problems using comprehensive techniques and methods of troubleshooting end-user problems.
  • Hands-on experience with supporting the deployment of Microsoft Windows operating systems (i.e., Windows 10) and the Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Office 365).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware and operating systems including system architectures, network infrastructures, client-server principles, and backup and recovery.
  • Must have previous IS&T supervisory experience.
  • Must be highly organized and skilled in time management.
  • Ability to lead a team in troubleshooting issues to resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to review and understand end-to-end IT work processes.
  • Experience implementing a disaster recovery or business continuity processes as part of a recovery effort.
  • Review new technologies that will enhance performance and security.
  • Experience in DOE facilities and a highly secured work environment.
  • IS&T-based project management experience.
