Essential functions (job duties):

Conduct HIV clinical training sessions on behalf of the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC) at work sites for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dental professionals, students in healthcare professions, public health providers, social work, case management, and other healthcare professionals throughout Michigan that will promote workforce development and capacity building to increase and sustain the HIV workforce.

Collaborate with the PI, Associate Director, regional partners, and subject matter experts to design and evaluate training programs for healthcare professionals and health professions students. Develop and update learning objectives. Design and update training content. Develop training activities and create training materials such as charts, posters, handouts and/or PowerPoint presentations to support learning and retention.

Support Associate Director on specific workplan objectives and projects such as the HIV Practice Transformation Project, medical residency education initiatives, implementation of HIV Interprofessional Practice programming, HIV Clinician Scholars, HIV ECHO training series, and other special projects as needed.

Collaborate with Program Coordinators to secure Continuing Education credits for programs, prepare resources for programs, format presentation materials, operate virtual and hybrid technology, troubleshoot participant registration and technical problems, promote post-program evaluation survey responses, and follow-up with participants following programs as needed.

Represent Midwest AIDS Training Education Center (MATEC) project at meetings with federal, state, and regional funders and constituents that are relevant to the assigned training projects.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Master's degree

Preferably in nursing or another health profession or health education.

A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Experience Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)

Required: Prior experience with HIV, STI, and Hepatitis C prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in a clinical setting. Prior experience creating, editing, and updating training materials.

Preferred: Previous public health, grant management, or health research experience. Experience in providing training programs to large group and in one-on-one or small group, preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. Good time management skills. Self-starter who is able to work independently when appropriate but enjoys being a part of a collaborative team. Ability to interact with and represent the project to a variety of internal and external stakeholders and addressing sensitive topics related to sexual health, substance use, and stigma in healthcare.

Proficient in computer programs including word processing, presentation development, and spreadsheets. Experience with virtual training platforms including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex.
