Job Description

This Fraud Investigator 4 position is responsible for the detection, prevention, and mitigation of suspicious and fraudulent activities on Bremer's customer accounts. The position reviews fraud alerts and preforms triage of suspected fraud. The position also handles alert types covering multiple payment channels and include internal and external notifications. In addition, this role will serve as the subject matter expert for junior staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that process is completed timely using appropriate controls to mitigate financial and reputation risks.
  • Ensures that department procedures and policies are completed in compliance with applicable regulatory and compliance standards and requirements.
  • Understands and can effectively communicate complex issues across multiple business lines at all levels of the organization.
  • Develops, builds, and fosters effective professional working relationships with staff members, peers, cross-functional project teams, and internal/external Customers.
  • Delivers exceptional service and support that is customer focused.
  • Preparing quality investigative documentation which includes clearly articulating written detailed case notes and providing attachments of internal and external research.
  • Complete thorough and objective investigation reports, evaluation of evidence, recommendation on whether a SAR is necessary, preparation of supporting documentation and completion of case file providing detailed notes and SAR narratives.
  • Collaborate with management on SAR decisions and ensure all SARs are prepared and filed with FinCEN on a timely basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A combination of education and experience generally attained through a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of bank operational experience.
  • Industry specific knowledge of payment systems including funds transfer, ACH, card, and checks.
  • Industry specific knowledge regarding loss prevention and fraud detection preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate and consistently model Bremer values, Bremer Leadership Competencies and foster an inclusive work environment.
