About the Role

The Team Leader coordinates the daily materials and logistics activities of the Materials and Logistics Associates to ensure quality standards are followed, material movement is efficient and effective, storage is maintained as regulated and in a manner that enhances efficiency, and shipment schedules are achieved to meet customer requirements. The Team Leader maintains a clean and safe working environment; monitors the overall production and attendance of the Materials and Logistics Associates; and performs some administrative duties.

Your Responsibilities
  • Coordinates daily materials and logistics activities of job assignments.
  • Ensures container receipts and shipments are being accurately tracked and entered into proper systems.
  • Ensures timely unloading/loading of trailers and that window times are being met.
  • Meets with the Shift Leader to understand the current state of the materials and logistics activities, absentee/tardiness call-ins, and changes to normal employee work areas/equipment, etc.
  • Holds daily pre-shift meetings to inform Materials and Logistics Associates of any changes, to communicate daily requirements and to promote involvement in issues affecting employees or their work areas.
  • Ensures TPM/Daily Care activities, safety checks, etc. are completed properly and as scheduled.
  • Performs shift start prep; ensuring the necessary PPE and other materials/supplies are available.

Your preferred qualifications
  • High school degree; or equivalent vocational/trade school education in Manufacturing, Materials, Logistics or related field; or related materials/logistics work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years Materials and/or Logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in a leader/supervisory role.
  • Experience shipping to OEM.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and tugger in a safe manner.
  • Knowledge of and basic skills in lean manufacturing principles and problem solving methods.
