The Shift Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests at Le Pain Quotidien - 44th & 3rd. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage service operations while providing exceptional hospitality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver warm and attentive service to all patrons throughout their visit.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, input them into the POS system, and coordinate with the kitchen as needed.
  • Anticipate customer needs and remember any specific preferences shared by guests.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu items, including pastries, breads, beverages, and retail offerings.
  • Prepare beverages for the dining area as required.
  • Address guest concerns with genuine empathy and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Execute all opening, mid, and closing procedures; complete daily checklists and assigned tasks.
  • Organize cash and receipts throughout the shift in compliance with cash handling policies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all restaurant areas by adhering to cleaning protocols.
  • Assist in setting up outdoor seating and maintaining the exterior environment, as applicable.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 months of relevant experience in the restaurant industry or equivalent training.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Toast, is advantageous.
  • Flexible scheduling is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained in various areas of the dining and retail environment is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the primary language(s) of the workplace.
