Position Overview

The Shift Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. This position involves overseeing daily operations and providing support to the team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver warm and attentive service to guests throughout their visit.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, input them into the POS system, and communicate effectively with the kitchen staff.
  • Proactively anticipate guest needs and remember any preferences shared by them.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu items, including pastries, breads, beverages, and retail offerings.
  • Prepare beverages for the dining area as required.
  • Address guest concerns with genuine empathy and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Complete all opening, mid, and closing tasks; ensure daily checklists and side work are fulfilled.
  • Manage cash and receipts throughout the shift in accordance with cash handling policies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all restaurant areas by adhering to cleaning protocols.
  • Assist in setting up outdoor seating and maintaining the patio area, if applicable.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 6 months of relevant experience in the restaurant industry or equivalent training.
  • Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Toast, is advantageous.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained in various dining and retail areas is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the primary language(s) spoken at the workplace is essential.
