Basic Function

LYB is seeking a motivated team member to create engaging content and execute social media campaigns across various digital platforms. As the Content & Social Media Advisor, you have a passion for social media, understand the nuances of each platform and can tailor content accordingly. You are also a strong writer, pay close attention to detail and can independently manage projects across multiple workstreams. Your role, which reports into the Content & Social Media Manager, will work closely with the Communications team to fulfill digital content and social media requests, develop strategies that align with LYB business objectives and increase stakeholder engagement. This position is part of the Communications team and sits within the Sustainability & Corporate Affairs Department.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Maintain and create content for the LyondellBasell social media channels, website and other digital channels
  • Proficiency in managing various social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube) and using social media publication platforms
  • Create and maintain content calendars for social media channels
  • Schedule social media posts incorporating SEO keywords and strategy for optimization
  • Work with graphic designers to create imagery for social media platforms, create LinkedIn event pages and send event reminders when necessary
  • Assist with development of paid social media campaigns and measure results 
  • Monitor media channels during a crisis using the Sprinklr tool 
  • Act as a copywriter/editor and periodically review websites and other interactive properties for grammar, syntax as well as recommend content updates 
  • Be a thought-leader on the team on innovative ways to tell stories 
  • Experiment with new and alternative ways to leverage social media activities 
  • Collect KPIs and social media metrics as needed
  • Measure ROI of social media engagement, followers and posts 
  • Keep up with social media trends across platforms 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
Min. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, including background in social media, content development, writing or marketing communications
  • Knowledge of and passion for social media platforms, websites, streaming services and apps
  • Superior written skills, including strong proficiency in AP style
  • Proven organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail and ability to meet quick-turn deadlines
  • Results-driven, self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with both creative and business-oriented colleagues and partners
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and balance multiple priorities
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Canva or Adobe InDesign preferred
