Job Overview

The Supplier Program Manager will work on maintaining a strong and healthy strategic alliance with Komatsu key partners and suppliers. Komatsu’s success in the market with our customers is heavily impacted by the health of the supplier relationships and is critical in managing the performance of our products and maintaining our global support model.

 

The Supplier Program Manager serves as the primary liaison between the Surface Haulage team and all the Peoria stakeholders (including Product Management, Sales, Product Planning, Contracts, Engineering, Compliance, Manufacturing, Aftermarket, Sourcing). 

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Along with owning the key partner / supplier relationship, this role is responsible for the ownership of the Mining Steering Committee (MSC) process between Komatsu teams. This includes various locations and mining products outside of trucks (shovels, loaders, etc.).
  • Manages and maintains MSC engagement by driving communication and alignment. 
  • Drive escalations as necessary to determine appropriate actions and resolution.
  • Track, manage and communicate/report out on KPI’s for electric drive truck performance and customer sentiment working with sales, service and regional teams as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, plus 5-7 years of experience in mining business operations, with a deep knowledge of mining equipment.
  • Experience with large, complex multi-national businesses and ability to converse with/present to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of mining operations and equipment and ability to develop cost efficiencies to promote customer success, and ability to identify market opportunities to expand the business and increase market share.
  • Effective personnel management & relationship skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with the product development process, including new product development from concept through production and market introduction.
  • Proficiency with value chain optimization and strategy management development. 
  • Proficiency in personal computer skills as required, excellent written and oral communication skills, second language preferable.
  • Frequent domestic and international travel as required (30-40%)
Additional Information

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (life, carry, move) light to medium weights of 1-10 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
